Our Story, Mission, and Passion for Boba Tea
New Chapter
Teaspoon entered an exciting new era under the ownership of Next Bite Ventures, a private equity fund fueling growth across the Food & Beverage market. This acquisition marks a pivotal moment, bringing new resources and a strategic vision to propel Teaspoon to new heights while remaining true to our roots. Leading this next chapter are Ahmed Farag and Hady Abou El Kheir, the founding and general partners of Next Bite Ventures.
Their connection to Teaspoon runs deep. Since 2022, Ahmed and Hady have been part of the Teaspoon family as the brand’s first multi-unit franchise owners, operating several shops across Northern California. Having lived the daily "ups and downs of running stores — from navigating supply issues to celebrating long lines of happy customers" — they bring a unique and firsthand perspective to the company's leadership.
Leadership
Now serving as Teaspoon’s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Farag brings over 20 years of global leadership and technology experience to the brand. A former Director at Microsoft and a successful technology entrepreneur, Ahmed is dedicated to modernizing the Teaspoon experience through technology enablement, supply chain innovation, and operational excellence.
Working alongside him is Hady Abou El Kheir, CVP of Strategy & Partnerships. With his extensive experience running global teams in Facebook & Microsoft, store operations and local market development, Hady focuses on brand growth, strategic collaborations, and fostering the strong relationships that are the heartbeat of our franchise system.
Origin
Our journey began in 2015 in the vibrant town of Los Altos, California. Teaspoon was born from a simple yet passionate vision: to create a modern boba tea experience that celebrates the fusion of traditional flavors with a fresh, American twist. What started as a single shop quickly blossomed into a beloved community hub, driven by a commitment to quality and the belief that every cup should be a moment of joy.
